Find the group for you

In addition to individual, couples and family therapy, we offer group therapy for adults 18 and older. Our groups focus on a variety of life issues and challenges, such as depression and anxiety, trauma and grief, and help clients explore their thinking and behavior while also developing skills to navigate these issues more confidently.

Each group is typically eight or fewer people and is facilitated by a licensed therapist. Groups run for eight, 10, or 12 weeks in duration, and take place online. We accept select insurance for these groups, and offer a self-pay option as well, at a rate of $80 per session. 

All group therapy currently takes place online and is available only to residents of California at this time.

Anxiety skills

The purpose of the group is to provide psychoeducation, and allow clients time to listen, learn, and reflect on components of anxiety. This group is designed for Foresight and non-Foresight clients experiencing general anxiety. This group offers individuals CBT oriented tools to mitigate symptoms of anxiety, and the opportunity to reflect and support one another. Each week is designed to address a component of CBT for treatment of anxiety. The group is psychoeducational, and CBT oriented. Psychoeducation & processing group. Facilitator presents a different anxiety topic each week and provides resources. There are reflection questions during the group. Facilitator lets the group know that we are completely allowed to go 'off script' if someone would like to discuss something specific, and this occurs occasionally. There are also homework suggestions each week

Dialectical behavior therapy skills

The Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills group is designed to promote growth and introduce clients to new skills that they can use to manage painful emotions and decrease emotional reactivity in relationships. The main topics that will be covered are mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. The group is designed for Foresight clients and non-Foresight clients that would like to learn DBT skills! Psychoeducation with a lecture format. The group then has time to engage in some discussion and identify a few real-world examples with experiential activities and homework to be completed between groups

Transgender & nonbinary support

This group is designed to provide support and affirming space for gender non-conforming adults, regardless of their stage in transition, or even if they are still questioning a transition. Weekly sessions will include expressive therapy interventions, as well as open dialogue facilitated by a trained therapist who is also a trans/enby ally. Topics include: Gender Euphoria/Dysphoria, Coming Out, Social Anxiety, Healthy Relationships, Self-Care and Safety, Gender-Affirming Medical Treatments, Legal and Social Transitioning, and others.

 

One-hour sessions; twelve-week series

Women's support

The purpose of the group is to provide support & tools while allowing clients time to listen, learn, and reflect on components of being a woman. The group is designed for Foresight clients and non-Foresight clients that identify as female. Group therapy allows participants to connect with others in a safe open environment, while learning tools to improve their well-being. This group will provide a space where women can feel empowered and strengthen their sense of self. Set up like a more structured process group. Allowing clients to discuss challenges within womanhood. There are themes each week and sometimes the lessons incorporate quotes, writing, & art.

Mindfullness-based Trauma Focused Skills Group

This group is designed to provide clients with skills critical to trauma processing, as well as developing healthy coping for stressful events. We will be utilizing the Trauma Resiliency Model that incorporates aspects of mindfulness practices to assist clients in creating mind/body connections as a way of coping with stressors. As a result, clients will be better equipped to deal with past, present, and future stressors that would normally elicit a trauma response. By the end of the weeks, clients will be able to use these skills practically in their lives outside of therapy. Group format will include: weekly slideshows, psychoeducational lecture followed by processing, and aspects of mood tracking through use of journal writing and documenting various tools that will be built throughout this series.
