I have acquired over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including residential, outpatient, school based, a homeless shelter and drop-in center, and SRO's (Single Room Occupancy) in the Tenderloin and Mission District in San Francisco. I have treated children, adolescents and adults. I have extensive experience facilitating a variety of groups including traditional group therapy, psychoeducation and skill building groups. I have also worked with couples and families. My primary specialization is treating co-occurring substance use and mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and trauma. Other specializations include: codependency, self esteem, relationship issues, anger management, and personal growth. I support clients with identifying, expressing and coping with their feelings. I facilitate learning of tools to help challenge and reframe self defeating and ruminating thoughts. I also help to empower others to develop healthy boundaries and assertive communication skills. I assist clients with learning how to cultivate satisfying and healthier relationship.
Everyone has a story. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space. This kind of environment is necessary for others to feel comfortable enough to share their story and conducive for self growth.
