Hello! I am Summer Yeramian, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Foresight West Hollywood. I received my Masters degree in Marital & Family Therapy from The University of San Diego and have been practicing in the mental health field for the last several years. My experience has reached across numerous settings and diagnoses including ; Eating Disorders, Personality Disorders, Mood Disorders, Trauma, Substance Abuse, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, providing individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy and psychoeducational groups, and case management.
Through my experience, I have worked in various treatment settings including Intensive Outpatient/Partial Hospitalization, Residential, Schools, Community Mental Health and Telehealth. I incorporate interventions from different theoretical orientations, such as Solution-Focused or Narrative, and while I was primarily trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I do my best to fit the client with the orientation and not the other way around. It truly depends on the client and what they are most needing or what approach aligns more closely with their presentation. If you are a potential client reading this, I’d like to say welcome! I am proud of you for taking a big step to acknowledge your mental health needs. I would be grateful to take this next step with you and work with you on the topics you see fit. As your therapist, I am here to provide a safe and supportive space to process and discuss difficult topics. I would describe my approach as non- judgmental, warm and authentic, with appropriate humor sprinkled in as needed. While there may be moments where I gently challenge you, you will never be forced to share when you are not yet ready or comfortable. Your mental health matters and I am here to support you in your journey.
