With over four years of experience working in a rape crisis center, I've served alongside law enforcement and forensic medical teams as a crisis advocate. I’m very familiar with sexual assault, domestic violence and LGBTQ+ issues. I’ve facilitated Ventura County’s longest-running Trans/Non-binary support groups for adults and teenagers. With couples and other non-traditional relationships, I collaborate to create a safe environment to discuss ruptures in trust and attachment wounds. I employ Gottman and attachment theory techniques to help couples reconnect — even redefine — their relationships to support their growth and change. My special emphasis and training is within the growing field of mindfulness and somatic awareness. I help clients find healing in their mind-body connection so they have more integrated tools for dealing with depression, anxiety, and identity issues. I often draw from expressive arts and have been certified by the Center for Journal Therapy and the Therapuetic Writing Institute. I also incorporate Internal Family Systems, Gestalt and CBT techniques as clients find useful.
