I am a Licensed Marital & Family Therapist and a board certified art therapist at Foresight in San Luis Obispo, California. A graduate of Loyola Marymount’s Marital & Family Therapy Master’s Program I have been working in the substance abuse and addiction field for the last fifteen years, including three years working for the Cayman Islands Government in their community mental health division. In my private practice I have experience working with children, families, adolescents, and couples. I am client focused, with a compassionate mind-body-spirit approach to working with people. I look for people's strengths and resources in working through life's challenges. I have given talks in my field for the Women’s Empowerment Conference in Los Angeles, The California Association of Marital & Family Therapy Conference, (CAMFT) in California, Doctor’s Update in Val d’Isere, France and have written for the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) on-line newsletter. I am the proud mother of a 22-year-old son, whom I adopted from Guatemala when he was an infant. I am a facilitator for (AVP), Alternative To Violence Project, which conducts workshops in prisons, schools and communities on conflict resolution. For fun I am an avid rower. I love to, hike, ski, scuba dive and ride bicycles. I love books, art, art making, films, PBS News Hour, traveling, gardening and sometimes doing nothing.
