I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has clinical experience working with children, teens, and adults seeking relief from anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I also have 16 years of medical social work background and can also help you navigate your stress around chronic, progressive illness as well as issues of grief and loss. My therapeutic style is empathetic, non-judgmental, and warm. I try to provide a safe environment for clients to discuss their struggles and work towards their goals. In sessions I am often direct, goal oriented, and compassionate. I like to incorporate humor, when appropriate, to enhance the therapeutic alliance. I find it an honor to provide support and a listening ear to my clients to understand them as a person and help guide them to their own solutions regarding their challenges. I am happy to work with clients of all ages and backgrounds to support them in their daily life challenges such as family conflicts, relationship challenges, and academic or workplace stress. I use an eclectic therapy style with clients to utilize what works best for them individually. Some of the basic orientations I utilize are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Person-Centered Therapy. as well as Trauma Focused, Narrative, and Dignity Therapies. I will work to help you understand your thoughts, feelings, and reactions, aiding you in healing and growth. This can help lead towards a life that feels more meaningful, grounded, and joyful. I have been working in the social work field for more than 16 years, much of that time in medical settings that cared for clients of many racial and ethnic backgrounds, varied cultures and ages, and I allow my clients to teach me who they are so therapy is customized to your unique culture, values, and beliefs. In my work with people of different sexual orientations and gender identities, various religious and spiritual beliefs, and a variety of racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, I am careful to pay the utmost attention to the dignity and worth of each person I care for. I look forward to supporting your goals to help you feel empowered, accomplished and fulfilled.
