Lincoya Young, LPCC

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor at Foresight in Pomona. I received my Masters Degree from The University of Central Texas, with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. I have experience working with community based mental health agencies, managed care, and private practice. My passion is working with children and families. I believe that the family is an important institution to society, that needs to preserved.
My specialty areas include: trauma, child abuse, parenting issues , family therapy, coping with loss, play therapy, stress management and life transitions. I approach therapy from a client centered approach, focusing on validating the clients feelings displaying empathy, with a strong emphasis on the client being the expert. I believe in creating a therapeutic relationship that creates an opportunity for growth and change. I am sensitive to the clients perspective and I never prescribe or make recommendations that are in direct violation of the client culture, values or beliefs. The greatest experience in my counseling career is the client watching, growth and change.
