Laura Schulkin-Parnell, LMFT

I am a licensed Marriage Family and Child Therapist, with over 25 years of experience providing trauma informed, culturally competent evidence-based psychological services to children, teens, adults, families and couples. I graduated from the University of San Francisco with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, where she began working with school-age children and families through the USF Center for Child and Family Development. I also worked with children and adolescents in group homes and with the children of domestic abuse survivors. I have worked in both primary and secondary education providing psychotherapy/counseling to students and their families. My initial training was in the Mission Schools of San Francisco, which led to an interest in providing both school-based psychotherapy and private practice.
I have served as a Guidance Counselor, Director of Guidance and Counseling and Associate Dean of Students at local private schools, while maintaining a private practice. I hold a safe space for you to explore and discover the best solutions, while recognizing patterns and overcoming barriers.
