My priority is to provide a safe, empathetic, and warm environment where you can openly talk about the complexities you are experiencing. I enjoy working with clients from a variety of backgrounds and have successfully worked with clients who have been open to the therapeutic process, as well as those who are initially hesitant and need time to build trust with me. My goal will always be to find a place where we can build a solid therapeutic foundation that can support mutual collaboration when addressing your needs. I have experience working in private practice, community settings, state hospitals and secured facilities, which are often regarded as working with ‘forensic populations.’ I have provided treatment in both individual and group sessions. My areas of specialty range from processing life stressors, learning effective coping skills to work through anxiety/depression, to specializing in more complex areas such as working with complex trauma, personality disorders, co-occurring disorders, problematic sexual behavior, as well as providing risk evaluation, management, and assessment. The totality of my experience, in both community and forensic settings, allows me to work collaboratively with you to prioritize your needs and select interventions to best fit those needs. In my effort to best fit your individual needs, I tend to take an eclectic approach with my theoretical orientation. Over the years, I have used the following treatment modalities with my clients: Person- Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, Adlerian-Individual Psychology Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I have also integrated the following models into treatment, to fully address and support my client needs: Attachment Theory, Good Lives Model, Pathways. I am also trained in EMDR and offer this as an additional tool for my clients. I am licensed across multiple states, certified in multiple risk assessments for forensic populations, and I am also a California Sex Offender Management Board Independent Practitioner.
