Kathryn Winship, LPCC
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
LIC NO. 10901
CA Telehealth
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and member of the Foresight. I hold an M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Drama Therapy from California Institute of Integral Studies, and a B.A. from Oberlin College. For over 5 years, I have worked in outpatient settings with folks surviving the trauma of substance abuse, incarceration, and violence. I have also worked extensively with members of the LGBTQIIA+ community and understand the profound impact homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia can have on mental health and access to care. My work is strength-based and client-centered: I know that you are the expert on your own journey. My job is to help identify and uncover your strengths and resources, (re)learning how to apply them to your goals, and connect with new sources of support. Along the way, we’ll work on addressing challenging relationships and discovering new ways of connecting to others. While my primary tools are drama therapy, humanistic, and narrative techniques, we’ll work together to create a plan unique to you and your needs. I value empathy, transparency, and operate under the belief that everyone has worth, a unique and important story, and much to offer the world. I am trained in both abstinence and harm-reduction techniques, and am well-versed in 12-step/Recovery language and culture.
