Jay Mosoff, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
LIC NO. 35300
Many years ago, when I was first starting my career as a therapist, I was often asked what types of clients or problems would I prefer to work with. Back then, as now, I have only one answer. I love to work with individuals who are motivated to change. With more than 25 years of experience, I have worked with adults and children suffering from depression, anxiety, and difficulties coping with life changing circumstances. For children, I have seen that family therapy is very useful and I have deep expertise in parenting. I think of symptoms as indicators that something needs changing. My therapeutic approach is to collaboratively explore the source of the problem and to develop a treatment that eliminates the problems or symptoms by identifying and changing the root cause(s) of your suffering or distress. I work holistically with the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that affect your well-being. Sometimes, other aspects of health need to be addressed including nutrition, exercise, and sleep which can all impact our mental health. Above all, your needs are important. I expect that therapy will assist you to identify your needs and help you to meet them. I look forward to meeting with you to begin the work of therapy.
