I am currently an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA as well as a member of the Emory University Health Network. I am the Regional Medical Director for Foresight Mental Health.
I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and then received my medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. I completed my residency in adult psychiatry at the New York University Medical Center in New York, New York. I am board certified in adult psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, addiction psychiatry and forensic psychiatry.
I have been named one of America’s Top Psychiatrists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America and recognized in America’s Top Doctor’s. I have been named one of Atlanta’s Top Doctors by Atlanta Magazine on multiple occasions and most recently in July 2022. I am a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of several professional societies including the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law.
I have consulted on many forensic matters both in criminal and civil courts. I specialize in both plaintiff and defense matters as well as in insurance And Workers’ Compensation cases. Some of the common areas addressed are post-injury psychological functioning, fitness for duty, disability, Medical/Legal Board regulatory matters, fitness for parenting, substance abuse, competency for contracts/wills and NGRI affirmations
I have also participated in numerous clinical trials on focusing on depression, adhd, bipolar
disorder, schizophrenia , substance abuse, Alzheimer's disease, ADHD, VNS, dTMS, and post-partum
depression.
