Downtown San Diego
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR) at Foresight Downtown San Diego. Over the last 15 years, I have worked as a Therapist with diverse populations of children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups in Community Mental Health Programs, School Based Programs, and Private Practice. I also taught courses in Human Development and Special Populations, provided Clinical Supervision, and helped develop Therapeutic Mentoring programs. I also have a Masters Degree in Special Education. I have worked as a Special Ed Teacher with individuals experiencing ADHD, Learning/Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, behavioral challenges, etc.
I primarily use Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused, Attachment, Narrative, and other behavioral and strengths-based approaches. Through the use of empathy, validation, and humor I try to help clients figure out how to get through life a little easier. I have helped clients manage anxiety and depression, work through stages of life, process trauma, gain insight, identify coping strategies, create healthy boundaries, increase self-esteem, use healthy communication, and improve relationships. I understand it takes strength and courage to participate in therapy and make intentional efforts to support and understand clients by checking in with them and being open to feedback. My ultimate hope for clients is that they will make positive changes and develop tools to live healthy and fulfilling lives.
