Shaffrayne (Shay) Solomon is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 6 years of experience serving adolescents, individuals, families, pre-marital couples, and groups. She is dedicated to building strong therapeutic relationships in order to create a safe and judgment free space so that clients can feel free to make the changes in their life that are needed or desired.
Shay utilizes various modalities of treatment such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Systems Therapy, and Mindfulness to assist clients in addressing events or concerns that are impacting their ability to be the fully functioning person that they know they can be. She collaborates with clients to develop tools, skills, and identify supports that they can use to manage challenges they experience in their unique day to day lives.
Along with being culturally competent and implementing evidence based interventions and trauma informed care, Shay has worked with a wide variety of clients in various environments, such as (but not limited to): university students, families in inner-cities, minorities or members of the LGBTQ+ community that have been marginalized, working adults with occupational stress and parenting issues, and those who have experienced trauma or abuse. She believes in the importance of having a neutral and understanding place to process one’s experiences and is passionate about supporting clients through their journey toward betterment and healing.
