Since 1992, Merrie Sennett has worked in private practice, agencies, and hospital settings with a wide range of people who seek help in handling stress, anxiety, depression, trauma/abuse, psychosis, crises, grief, body image concerns, compulsive eating, transition, stage of life issues, and relationship concerns. One of her main specialties is recovery from trauma/abuse and she utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)--a very effective tool--as well as techniques from other trauma therapies. She has an integrative approach and uses tools such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and skill-building, cognitive-behavioral elements, focusing on strengths, and psycho-education. Merrie is warm and approachable and her clients say that they feel safe with and accepted by her.
Merrie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a BA in psychology from UC Berkeley and an MA in counseling psychology from John F. Kennedy University. She is passionate about helping people achieve well-being and access their full potential.
