Meghan Smith, LCSW
Meghan is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of California with 4 years of experience who is deeply committed to working with individuals toward relief from mental health symptoms and challenges. She has extensive experience working in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and substance use. Meghan practices trauma-informed psychotherapy and works in collaboration with each client to come up with a treatment plan based on your needs. She has advanced training in cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
Meghan a BA in sociology with a minor in political science from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master of Social Work degree from Catholic University in Washington DC. She spent eight years living in Washington DC where she worked at the national headquarters of the American Red Cross. After working in grant management at Red Cross, she was drawn to graduate school by her desire to help others and work with individuals in a more direct way. After moving to California in 2012 she spent three and half years at the Department of Veteran Affairs working with veterans who were experiencing homelessness or were at risk of becoming homeless. In her therapy practice she is truly inspired by the bravery of those working toward wellness. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, listening to podcasts, going to the beach, cooking, and running.
