Lynda Merritt, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
LIC NO. 93654
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Foresight El Cajon. I received my master’s degree in Social Worker with an emphasis on Adults and Healthy Aging from The University of Southern California. I have experience working in Community-Based, Outpatient and Justice-Involved Mental Health Settings. I have a passion for working with young and older adults in order to assist them in developing and utilizing the necessary coping skills to manage and thrive during difficult times and life transitions, and through needed change. My specialty areas include depression, anxiety, coping skills, interpersonal conflict, and stress management. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, client-centered perspective: focusing on genuineness, empathy, and helping clients connect their thoughts, feelings, and actions. I am intentional with highlighting strengths and a non-judgmental approach to help identify and create opportunities for personal growth. I have experience working with teens, adults, and older adults utilizing interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based approaches, and mindfulness practices.
