Kristina Mitchell, LMFT
Kristina Mitchell is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Foresight Riverside. She has over 7 years of clinical counseling experience but she has worked in the mental health field since 2000. She has experience working with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, relationship conflicts, life transitions, parenting stress, substance abuse, among others.
Kristina considers herself a person-centered eclectic therapist. I feel that my role is to be a supportive person in your life who encourages you to make positive changes, challenges you to rethink some of your not so great coping skills and cognitive distortions (fancy way of saying the faulty ways we view the world based on our past experiences and beliefs about the world) and just become the version of yourself that you want to be at this stage in your life. She also hopes to provide a safe and non-judgemental place to fall apart a bit. We all need that sometimes. Life is really hard and somedays you just need someone to listen who can give you their full attention and has no other agenda but to help you feel better. Therapy takes time but it’s going to go by either way, might as well be productive with the time
