LIC NO. 20558
Kary is a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience working with adults, children, adolescents and families. Kary received her Master's degree from California State University Long Beach with an emphasis in working with older adults. Kary has had unique experiences working with people from diverse backgrounds, both in the U.S. and internationally, and in multiple settings from residential, school- based, and community-based agencies. Most recently, she has worked with Native Americans on a reservation in Arizona. She has a strengths-based perspective in approaching therapy, first assisting clients in identifying their own strengths and attributes to utilize when addressing identified problems in therapy. She combines aspects of person-centered approaches with somatic psychology and DBT to provide a full range of interventions and skills to clients. Kary is especially receptive to client feedback and preferences in treatment, and will seek ongoing feedback from clients to ensure their therapeutic needs are being met from the very first session.
