Jeryl Girton, PMHNP
Jeryl Girton has been working in the mental health field since 1990 in various roles. Including long-term psychiatric facilities, acute care psychiatric facilities, and outpatient psychiatric clinics. Her experience includes multiple detours in different medical fields and different age groups to enhance her knowledge base. Those fields include Chemical Dependency, Infection Prevention, Gastroenterology, Pain management, as well as having spent a year working on a brain trauma / Neuroscience inpatient hospital unit. She obtained her ASN degree and Registered Nurse licensure in 1996. Her Bachelor’s degree from Pacific Union College in 1999. Master’s degree in Family Nurse Practitioner and Licensure from Holy Names University in 2007. She has practiced in the outpatient psychiatric field utilizing her FNP credential since 2007. In May 2018, she became dual certified when she obtained her Post Masters Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Washburn University and then became ANCC board certified in July 2018. Her caring and compassionate manner puts patients at ease and contributes to their successful recovery. With a background in nursing, she puts a strong emphasis in education and patient participation in their own healthcare. Her special interests are in working with children and young adults with Autism, ADHD, and PTSD patients.
