Jennifer Eng, LMFT
Jennifer is a person-centered therapist that thrives on connection and relationship building with her clients. She has done a lot of short-term, solution-focused therapy with clients, but she gets the most joy and pride from seeing positive changes over time with her longer-term clients. It's important to her that her clients feel safe, understood, and feelings validated. If you're feeling stressed, struggling with transitions or relationships, or just having a hard time and need someone to talk to, therapy can help. Or maybe your mental health is healthy and you're just looking to maintain that in therapy, she believes in de-stigmatizing the concept that therapy is only for those struggling with mental health issues because in reality we are all human and everybody needs somebody.
Jennifer is a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and she knows that sometimes therapy and communication comes in different forms than just through talking. She believes in holistic forms of healing and that symptoms can manifest themselves physically as well as mentally and emotionally. As a therapist, she believes her role is to help guide her clients towards achieving their goals and getting their needs met. She is not the expert on your own life, but she can help provide insight and nonjudgemental feedback in a safe place.
She works with individuals, couples, adolescents, elders and families through short and long term therapy. In the past, I have worked with elders with dementia and their families, providing support for both the family caregivers and the diagnosed individual. I've done art therapy with both adolescents and adults, and most recently I have supported military service members and their families through transitions, marital issues, and just life in general.
