Hanna Pepper, PMHNP

Nurse Practitioner

Berkeley - 3017 Telegraph

Hanna has been in active practice for over 30 years. After graduating from UC Berkeley, she went on to receive a Master’s degree in clinical psychology. This, coupled with a Master’s degree from the Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Program at Oregon Health Sciences Program led Hanna to work as a Geropsychiatric Nurse Practitioner for several years. She honed her medical skills and enhanced her ability to assess and treat mental illnesses in the elderly. With a second post-master’s from UC San Francisco’s Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program, Hanna worked with the underserved population to treat those who suffered from chronic mental disorders. Over the last years of practice, she has worked in the chemical dependency field and with at-risk youths often suffering from their first psychotic break. Her mission has been to develop a collaborative style with her clients. She believes that the individual needs to be in control of their treatment. Her goal in delivering treatment is to provide essential education and support the client as they develop tools towards health maintenance. Hanna believes a holistic approach is essential which includes a medical assessment on each individual, referrals for those who would benefit from therapy, nutritional education, mindfulness practice or a life coach. In addition, compiling data through comprehensive neuropsychological and genetic testing is encouraged.
