Crystal Luna, LMFT
Crystal Luna is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the vast exposure to many different at-risk populations over the past 13 years. She has been working with adults, adolescents and children in various states of crisis and need. Specialized populations for whom she has provided treatment include: at-risk youth and their families (i.e., adjustment problems, abuse, reunification, parenting, anger management, mood disorders, phobias, relational aggression/bullying, and gender identity), chronically mentally ill (bipolar disorder, schizoaffective, schizophrenia, addictions), inpatient and incarcerated individuals (suicidality, medication management), and couples.
Her foundation is rooted in understanding attachment, healing trauma and changing the personal narrative that keeps individuals stuck. She is a firm believer of holistic treatment, where change happens through a supportive, individualistic plan that includes all aspects of an individual’s ecology and focuses on various aspects of wellness (including nutrition, exercise, community engagement and other aspects found useful). Her approach is extremely client centered, and while evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing provide a foundational basis to treatment, she also incorporates other healing modalities that allow partners to see the world in a new way (for example Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy use of Enneagrams). She has been an educator, trainer and clinical supervisor for clinicians in various practices of behavioral health. She believes the connection with students and practitioners has not only helped sharpen her own clinical skills but has also enriched her cultural and socio-emotional perspectives of the healing arts.
