Susan Russo, LMFT

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who graduated from California Lutheran University. I have over 5 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, elder adults, and families. I have grown up in this community and I am familiar with treating and working with individuals with developmental disabilities and with severe mental illness. I have worked in many different settings that include: school based, community residential housing, and non profit mental health settings. I also have training both working with and treating individuals that have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault. I have worked inside of the school systems helping individuals obtain skills to be successful in the classroom. I provide an empathetic and culturally competent, non-judgmental space in which clients can share about their lives and experiences, explore their feelings and thoughts, and create meaningful change in their lives. I use a client centered approach to provide evidence based therapeutic services. My specialties include relationship challenges, crisis stabilization, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
