My name is Susan Pelletier. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with Foresight Mental Health, Santa Barbara. I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles. I served several years of internship and training with Southern California Counseling Center and the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.
I have experience treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, dual diagnosis, challenging relationships, crisis management, suicide prevention, grief/ loss and life-transitions. I have a passion for working with adults and older adults in building self awareness, personal growth and developing strategies to identify choice in working through difficulties. I approach therapy from an integrative framework that is informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy, Process Healing and Solution Focused Therapy.
My specialty areas include working with complex post traumatic stress, childhood neglect, attachment trauma, codependency, relational issues, women’s health, trauma processing and coping skills training.
I view every client as an individual and tailor my treatment program to meet each client’s needs. I work to “see” my clients to help them identify and overcome what holds them back so they can feel empowered and engaged in their lives.
