Sonya Young, LPC

Thank you for your interest in walking through your journey with me. Helping others through counseling is my passion. I consider it a privilege to do the work I do. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in Communication with an emphasis in Cultural Studies, both of which I received later in life. Empathy and meeting you where you are in your journey are incredibly important to achieving a good therapeutic relationship where we work together. It is my desire to create a non-judgmental space of trust where you feel comfortable working with me to achieve your therapeutic goals. I am easygoing and will check-in with you regularly to see how the process is working. My desire is to help you achieve your goals and get to a place of independence and self-advocacy. I love working with college through senior adults and diverse populations. My motto is therapy is a learning experience both for you and for me as we come to know each other.
