Pronouns: She/her/hers
I am passionate about helping individuals with mental illness because I believe that everyone deserves the support and care they need to lead a fulfilling life. Mental illness is a significant issue that affects millions of people worldwide, and unfortunately, many individuals struggle to access the appropriate resources and support. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling with mental health challenges. I also have a responsibility to advocate for my patients and ensure they have access to the resources and support they need to thrive. Whether it is collaborating with other healthcare providers, connecting patients to community resources, or advocating for policy changes that promote mental health awareness and access to care, I can make a difference in the lives of my patients beyond the walls of my practice.
I believe in taking a holistic approach to patient care. This means treating the whole person – mind, body, and spirit – rather than just focusing on their symptoms or diagnosis. I believe that in order to truly help my patients, I need to understand their unique experiences, beliefs, and values, and work with them to create a customized treatment plan that addresses their individual needs. I am comfortable working with a wide range of communities, as mental health issues can affect individuals from all walks of life. However, there are certain communities that I feel particularly drawn to and have a deep understanding of. One community that I feel very comfortable working with is the individuals who have experienced trauma, such as survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, or war. These individuals often struggle with complex mental health issues, including PTSD, depression, and substance abuse. I am comfortable working with individuals who struggle with co-occurring disorders, such as substance abuse and mental illness.
