I am passionate about increasing mental health awareness among minorities because I wish that someone would have talked about the importance of talking to someone when I was younger. I want people to have access to mental health services and reduce the barriers. I hope that I am able to impact those by helping them make positive changes in their lives and create healthier boundaries to decrease anxiety and stress and built healthier coping skills.
I focus on the individual strengths and collaborate with them on creating the environment and habits that will help you them feel empowered. I use different interventions/methods which depends on the clients goals but I incorporate (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Strength Based) to help clients reach their goals in therapy.
As a first generation Latine therapist, I understand the barriers first generation face and how it impacts their mental health. I enjoy working with first generation, eldest sibling stressors, and first in the family to attempt to break the transgenerational trauma that has been passed within the family.
I have worked in the mental health field in over 7 years and have served different communities as well as worked in different settings (schools, community mental health, outpatient, and hospital).
