I am an entertainment industry veteran. By happenstance, while contemplating a career change, I was introduced to a social services agency that catered to industry professionals who find themselves, “in crisis, need or transition.” I thought, “I’m all three!”
And so began my journey into helping others who find themselves in need of supportive change.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I spent many years working in downtown Los Angeles on Skid Row with homeless parolees and other justice-involved individuals. I have experience in working with everyone from professional athletes, actors and musicians to those on the margins of society. I specialize in addiction therapy; in addition to being a licensed therapist in California I am a Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I work from a resilience based model; in building emotional resilience, one can better manage the stressors of life and reach the goal of finding contentment and having a happy and meaningful life.
