I stay committed to mental health work because I want to support underserved communities and help people see their own strengths. My goal is to empower clients by helping them understand their challenges better, giving them tools to handle them, and encouraging them to use their existing strengths. In therapy, I mix techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build coping skills. I focus on the strengths each client already has. I’ve found joy in working with young people transitioning to college and adulthood. I also specialize in treating OCD and various anxiety disorders like agoraphobia, panic disorder, and emetophobia. As a social worker, I consider factors like background, sexual orientation, race, and culture that might affect my clients. I aim to understand their experiences and be humble about it. Being Asian-American, I’m passionate about making mental health support more accessible and spreading awareness in the AAPI community.
