The ability to make a difference in someone’s life and show them that change and healing is possible is what drives me to work in mental health. Not many individuals get the opportunity to get help or have a safe space to talk freely about their struggles and as a mental health clinician, I like to provide that space for my clients. My passion is to help others grows everyday and I am always finding new ways to support them in the ways they need.
I work from a CBT approach as I feel individuals can change their behaviors by changing the way they think. I also work from a psychodynamic approach as well as feel our past shapes who we are today and being able to explore the past can shed light on how we manage current life stressors and interpersonal relationships. I have found within my career journey that not all approaches will work with each individual and I tend to take an integrative approach at times pulling from different modalities in what I feel will work best for my clients. Within my career journey, I have been able to work with children, adolescents, adults, families, couples, those struggling with addiction and substance abuse, and a few individuals from the LGBTQIA community as well.
I’ve completed trauma-informed training and earned a certificate. Additionally, I’ve conducted training sessions for specific teams, focusing on clinical language, case conceptualization, and client care, both in individual and group settings.
