Kristen Sasse, ACSW

Telehealth Available

Kristen was exposed to the consequences of unresolved mental health issues and addiction early on in life. Kristen was removed from her biological mother’s custody, and placed in the foster care system temporarily, following her struggles with addiction and inability to provide and care for her young children. In high school, after learning more about the impact addiction and mental health issues have on the mind, Kristen dedicated her life to continual education and working towards a career as a Social Worker. Her own experiences with crisis intervention and therapy have further affirmed her decision to become an advocate for and provide services to individuals, families, youth, and diverse groups who are struggling. Kristen was adopted to a family that instilled in her the importance of higher education and to not only set goals but fight to achieve them. She strives every day to find the beauty within life challenges and works to support her mental health by practicing activities such as reading, spending time with her dog, and investing in important relationships. Kristen received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California. Kristen received her bachelor’s degree in human services from California State University of Fullerton. Kristen specializes with young adults, men and women, groups, and families. She has worked in crisis residential programs, a psychiatric hospital, Substance Rehabilitation Programs, Domestic Violence Shelters, and those with life changing medical diagnosis with a focus of end stage renal disease. Kristen also completed a yearlong internship where she provided social support, resources, and crisis counseling to individuals, and their families, who are nearing the end of life. Her clinical experience includes trauma informed care, crisis intervention, harm reduction, CBT, and DBT. Kristen holds a certification as a Domestic Violence Advocate. Kristen has experience working with individuals and families who are learning to live with mental health diagnosis of Depression, Anxiety, Substance Abuse, Anger Management, Mood Disorders, sexual assault, and domestic violence.
