I continue to work in the mental health field because I love seeing my clients’ transformations. I hope to provide a safe space for clients to share their authentic self and unearth their strengths to reach their goals. I believe the client is the expert and as a therapist I am there to walk alongside them. Instead of a “one size fits all” approach, I learn about the client and their history so we can form a treatment plan together. As I’ve grown professionally, I’ve learned that my client’s needs are dynamic, and my approach should adjust accordingly. Some treatment methods I tend to use often are cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment, family systems, dialectical behavioral therapy, and narrative therapy.
I have the most experience working with trauma survivors. A big piece to working through trauma is dismantling the societal narratives that reinforce victim blaming, while also taking a somatic approach that increases the client’s comfort within their own body. I also have experience helping clients with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, bipolar disorder, self esteem issues, grief, emotional dysregulation and life transitions. I work with adolescents (12 and up), adults and families.
