I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) at Foresight Mental Health. I received my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Mount Saint Mary’s University. I enjoy working with individual adults and adolescents who are struggling with the high stress of living in the fast-paced and often mindless state of our current age. I also have experience supporting couples who have lost direction in their relationship and need guidance in learning how to nonviolently and lovingly communicate again. I have extensive experience working in both community-based and private practice settings, and I have also acted as a supervisor on an emotional support hotline. I often work with people experiencing depression, anxiety, work-related stress, life transitions, trauma and PTSD, and those struggling with relationships and interpersonal conflicts. Given how demanding and uncertain our world can often appear, I believe strongly in creating a safe, patient container within therapy where my clients can truly express themselves honestly, openly, and at a pace that feels supportive and gentle. In a society that often does not encourage introspection, my practice is built around “going inward” and connecting with one’s intuitive center. The disconnect between one’s mind, body, and soul is more pronounced now than ever before; thus, I work to help clients sift through all their mental noise and come back to their truest self. I believe strongly in the value of developing deep and caring bonds with clients so they understand that I am on their journey alongside them. My therapeutic approach is steeped in the humanistic traditions of non-judgmental acceptance, unconditional positive regard, and holding a reflective mirror up to my clients as they wrestle with complex insights and thoughts that emerge in therapy. I think that the power of empathy and “bearing witness” to one’s suffering is a powerful avenue for creating a healing opportunity for clients to truly confront their resistance to change. I teach clients how to gradually understand all parts of themselves more fully and to become more present-centered and mindful in their day-to-day lives. I believe that therapy is a space where radical transformation and change can occur, as we work to uncover the core values that can help guide us through life’s many journeys.
