I am very passionate about walking with others who have experienced traumatic or difficult chapters of their life and seeing them overcome these experiences through the process of healing and empowerment. I hope to create space for each person I meet with so that I can best support them on their personal and unique journey of becoming the person they want to be. I use a variety of modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Self-Regulation Practices, Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Client-Focused, and Motivational Interviewing.
I have experience working with families experiencing homelessness, youth in the foster care system, individuals experiencing/struggling with addiction(s), youth with IEP’s in the school system, individuals, couples, or families that have experienced significant trauma or loss, individuals, couples, or families in poverty or low socioeconomic status, and individuals, couples, or families with religious backgrounds.
I have over 4 years of experience of working with families experiencing homelessness, addictions, domestic violence, and other significant losses in their lives that has largely shaped my understanding of the extreme difficulties many go through on a daily basis even just to keep breathing every day. I have been in awe of the hope and strength that continues to live through each individual I have worked with, even despite what all they have experienced. Additionally, I have worked specifically with children and adolescents in the foster care system, as well as those that have difficulties in the education system. I have witnessed the resilience that many adolescents develop through their process of healing from their experiences. Although they cannot control what has happened to them, they have control over their future and who they hope to become.
