I am driven to work in the mental health field because I believe that everybody needs support and guidance throughout life. Life can be stressful and demanding for all people, it’s my goal to help people use different coping skills and perspectives to help them manage their stressors and find a healthier way of life. Therapy isn’t always about fixing a problem or finding happiness, it’s about finding wellness.
In my treatment approach I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Person Centered Therapy. I enjoy working with young adults who are facing major life changes such as entering into the workforce or moving away from home. I also enjoy working with the LGBTQ community and have worked with many people on navigating through the stressors that society, culture, and family can put onto the LGBTQ community. My education and professional experience has led me to work with a variety of clientele from different ages, cultures, and backgrounds. It has allowed me to see the importance in being flexible, adaptable, and culturally sensitive.
