Pronouns: She/her/hers
Over the last decade, I have been dedicated to providing compassionate and empathetic mental health care and working in the communities to reduce mental health stigma. To support my patients and community, I have had many roles, including volunteering at domestic abuse shelters, speaking for mental health organizations, facilitating campus support groups, and working as a psychiatric registered nurse. As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I will continue my passion for providing quality mental health care for my patients, ensuring every patient feels supported and heard.
My approach centers around collaboration, empowering patients to actively participate in treatment plans that best suit their goals and lifestyles. There is no ‘one size fits all’; every patient has different symptoms, beliefs, and needs. Building a therapeutic alliance and fostering an environment of trust and empathy are essential in my practice, ensuring each patient feels supported and understood. In addition, I practice holistic care and look at all aspects of my patient’s life to help improve their quality of life. Finally, I am passionate about Trauma-Informed Care as trauma is a nearly universal experience and patients should all be treated with sensitivity and care.
In my various mental health roles, I have worked with patients from ages 3 to over 100, allowing me to learn about different cultures, histories, and lifestyles. Most of my psychiatric nursing career was spent with the elderly and homeless populations with severe mental illness. Serving this underserved population taught me to navigate financial, housing, medical, and complex psychiatric concerns at the county level. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with patients who have experienced traumatic events and am passionate about providing Trauma-Informed Care.
