Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
LIC NO. 97320

Welcome. I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Foresight Mental Health in our West Hollywood location. I earned my Master of Arts degree from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco with an emphasis in integral counseling in 2008. I also possess an Advanced Professional Certificate in the Cognitive Behavioral Treatment of Anxiety Disorders from UC Berkeley Extension that I earned in 2011.
In clinical practice, I facilitate insight-oriented psychotherapy, a form of therapy developed by Sigmund Freud dating back to the 1900’s. This form of therapy is client-centered, a type of talk therapy that guides clients toward developing an improved understanding of self. During a session, I will ask you to recall situations in your life while I listen for patterns of behavior, thoughts or feelings and encourage you to examine them more closely. By examining these issues which have had a negative effect on your life, you will begin to gain awareness and change self-destructive patterns, thus creating space for healing and growth.
My approach to therapy is highly influenced by the work of Carl Rogers, a California psychologist who developed person-centered psychotherapy. Rogers’ believed every human being strives for and has the capacity to fulfill his or her own potential. In our work together, I will offer support, guidance and structure so you can discover your own personalized solutions to what brought you to therapy.
I work with adult individuals, couples of all genders/sexual orientations and small groups who would like to better understand and minimize symptoms related to depression, anxiety, relationships and substance addiction, from both an abstinence and a harm reduction model. Two specialty areas of mine include navigating through the loss of a loved one following a completed suicide and the lived-experiences of chronic mental illness as found in bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia.
