Dahdrian Duncan

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Houston, Texas. I earned my two graduate degrees, a Specialist in Education and Masters in Counseling and Human Systems with an emphasis in Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University in 2012. Prior to that, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Florida State University in 2010. I have over 10 years of experience working in community mental health settings, residential facilities, and primary care health clinic for adults and adolescents. I have a passion working with Adults especially minority and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) groups through life transitions, building healthy relationships and gaining control with adaptive coping tools throughout challenging situations. My philosophy to treatment starts by meeting clients where they are at, fostering a positive and beneficial therapeutic relationship, being transparent, and creating a safe and welcoming environment for clients to share their truths. I would describe my therapeutic style as collaborative with a reality based lens, focusing on problem solving, mindfulness tools, reframing negative thinking and shifting habits that are no longer serving you on your journey to your ideal life.
