Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
LIC NO. 95007622
I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner serving individuals utilizing tele-health to offer comfortable visits in your home. It is my goal to make psychiatric care accessible, comfortable, non-judgmental and authentic.
I treat common psychiatric conditions including anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and ADHD . I incorporate multiple modalities, including medication management, mindfulness, education, and brief supportive talk therapy to treat you as a unique individual and not a text-book. I use a bio-psycho-social framework. Understanding that psychiatric illnesses may have biological causes, like thyroid problems, the effects of certain medications, or genetic predisposition. Psychiatric conditions may also have psychological causes, such as the lack of coping tools/skills, difficulty processing experiences and situations, or adverse early childhood events. Last, but not least, psychiatric conditions may have sociological explanations: overwhelming expectations of one’s environment, including occupational/educational stress or changes in your environment.
I am a graduate of Gonzaga University and have been a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner since 2017. I have 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, beginning my professional journey as an Emergency Medical Technician in the United States Air Force. I completed my bachelors of Nursing at Indiana State University before becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
I have a passion for providing care to a diverse population with a particular interest in working with health care professionals, military veterans, families of military members, and former foster youth. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, grandchildren, and my animal family. I am dedicated to helping my patients to achieve optimal holistic wellness and to lead active, meaningful and fulfilling lives.
